Advan G Tab 8001

Advan G-Tab 8001 Stock Firmware (.cpb File for QGDP)

The Advan G-Tab 8001 is an 8-inch budget tablet from the Indonesian manufacturer Advan, featuring 4G LTE connectivity and running Android 8.0 Oreo. It’s designed for users needing a larger screen for media and browsing on the go. If your tablet is bricked, stuck on the Advan logo, or experiencing persistent software glitches, a full firmware flash is the most effective solution to restore it to its original, stable condition.

Important Note: This stock firmware is packaged in the `.cpb` format and must be installed using the QGDP Assembly Tool. This process is different from the more common SP Flash Tool and will completely erase all data on your device.

  • Backup Your Data: Ensure any important files, photos, and contacts are backed up, as this procedure will wipe the tablet’s internal storage.
  • Charge Your Tablet: The battery should be charged to at least 50% to prevent it from shutting down during the flashing process.
  • Windows PC & USB Cable: You will need a Windows computer and the tablet’s micro USB data cable.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1. Why can’t I use the normal SP Flash Tool for this tablet?
Even though this is a MediaTek device, the manufacturer (Advan) has provided the official firmware in a compressed .cpb format. This format is not compatible with SP Flash Tool and requires the specific factory software it was designed for, which is the QGDP tool.
Q2. Will this update my tablet to Android 9 (Pie)?
No. This is the official Android 8.0 Oreo firmware for the Advan G-Tab 8001. No official updates to newer Android versions were released for this model.
Q3. My tablet won’t detect my SIM card after flashing. What should I do?
This can happen if the tablet’s NVRAM partition, which stores the IMEI number, gets corrupted. First, check your IMEI by dialing *#06# – if it shows “Invalid,” the data is lost. This is a complex issue to fix and requires separate tools like Maui META to rewrite your original IMEI number.

🔧 Device-Specific Troubleshooting

  • QGDP Tool Fails to Detect the Tablet: This is the most common issue and is almost always driver-related. First, reinstall the MediaTek VCOM drivers. Second, follow the connection sequence precisely: power off the tablet, click “Start” in the tool, press and hold Volume Down, and only then connect the USB cable.
  • “Invalid CPB File” Error in QGDP: This error means the firmware file is either corrupted or not compatible with your version of the QGDP tool. Try to download the firmware file again. If it still fails, you may need a different version of the QGDP tool.
  • Flashing Fails Before Reaching 100%: A flash that stops midway can be caused by a faulty USB port or cable. Always use a high-quality cable and a reliable USB port (preferably a USB 2.0 port). If it consistently fails at the same percentage, it could indicate a failing eMMC (storage) chip on the tablet, which is a hardware issue.
  • Stuck on Advan Logo After a Successful Flash: If the tool shows 100% but the device won’t boot, a factory reset is necessary. Boot into recovery mode (usually by holding Power + Volume Up), and in the menu, select “wipe data/factory reset.” This will clear old data conflicts and allow the new system to boot.
