❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1. What is the difference between QFIL firmware and an OTA package?
QFIL firmware is a low-level package used with a PC to revive a completely dead or bricked phone from EDL mode. An OTA package is an update file installed through the phone’s own recovery menu and can only be used on a phone that can at least boot into recovery.
Q2. My phone is stuck on the Oppo logo. Which file should I use?
First, try to boot into recovery (Power + Volume Down). If you can access recovery, use an OTA package. If you cannot access recovery or the phone is completely dead, you must use a QFIL package.
Q3. The recovery file is an .ozip. How do I flash it?
For some versions of ColorOS recovery, you may need to rename the downloaded file from firmware.ozip to firmware.zip for the recovery to recognize it. Always copy the original file to your SD card first.
