FAQs (Firmware)

Q1. Is the Mi 9 Lite the same as the Mi CC9? Yes. The Mi CC9 was the name for the Chinese market, while the same device was rebranded as the Mi 9 Lite for global markets. They share the same codename (pyxis) and hardware.
Q2. Why do the regional ROMs have different version numbers?
Xiaomi manages software versions separately for each region. The Russian and EEA variants received slightly later updates with region-specific optimizations, hence the different version numbers (V12.5.6.0 and V12.5.3.0).

Q3. Did this device receive Android 12 officially?
No. The Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite reached its end-of-life with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. It did not receive an official Android 12 update from Xiaomi.
